How an Egyptian mobile number is built

Every Egyptian mobile number is 10 digits after the +20 country code and starts with 1. Domestically it carries a trunk 0, so mobiles are 11 digits at home: 010 1234 5678. From abroad the 0 is dropped: +20 10 1234 5678.

Numbers are regulated by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).

Operator prefixes at a glance

The two digits after the 1 show which operator issued the number:

• 010 - Vodafone
• 011 - Etisalat (e&)
• 012 - Orange
• 015 - WE (Telecom Egypt)

This generator picks from all four blocks. Number portability lets people keep their number when they switch, so a real number’s prefix shows the original operator, not necessarily the current one.

A note on the “555” in these numbers

Egypt has no official block of fictional phone numbers. The 555 after the operator prefix is this site’s own marker to make generated numbers read as test data. They have a valid Egyptian shape, so they pass format checks, but they are not guaranteed to be unassigned.

FAQ

Will a generated number verify on an Egyptian app like InstaPay or Talabat? No. Those apps send a code by SMS to a real SIM, and a dummy number has no SIM behind it. Use generated numbers to fill and test the form, not to pass a real verification step.

Is an Egyptian mobile number 10 or 11 digits? Both, depending on how it’s written: 11 digits domestically with the leading 0 (01012345678), 10 digits after +20 internationally (+201012345678).
