United States mobile number format
United States mobile numbers are 10 digits long, dialed after the +1 country
code, and typically start with a 3-digit area code. A generated number such as
+1 2005550000 has the right shape of a real United States mobile number, but is not
assigned to anyone and cannot receive calls, SMS, or OTP codes.
What you can use them for
- Filling phone fields while testing signup, checkout, or profile forms
- Seed data for a database or a demo environment
- Screenshots, tutorials, and UI mockups that need a realistic number
- Example numbers in documentation
What they are not
These numbers cannot receive SMS or OTP codes. They are not temporary, virtual, or disposable inbox numbers. If you need to actually receive a verification code in United States, you need a real SIM or a paid virtual number service - this is the wrong tool for that.
